Bodegas Vinícola Real S.L., was founded in 1989 by Miguel Ángel Rodríguez in Albelda de Iregua, a village in La Rioja dating back to medieval times.
The Vinícola Real winery was built close to the church of Santa Catalina, the only part of the tenth-century monastery of San Martín de Albelda to survive a landslide from the nearby Salagona Heights in 1683.
Vinícola Real was conceived as a small winery specialising in high-quality terror wines, the idea being to produce great wines with... a style and personality of their own (the new La Rioja style) and sourced from a single vineyard in line with a specific wine-making and ageing process.
