Wines from the winery Bodega Marqués de Cáceres

This winery was founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner who following the advice of Emile Peynaud chose Cenicero -in the Rioja Alta- as the best location for the winery.

The Forner family had a long tradition in wine making, since they were already owners in Bordeaux of a Grand Cru Classé, the Château Camensac, and the Château Larose-Trintaudon.

Despite the difficulties of the early years, almost from the very moment of its foundation, Marques de Caceres has... undergone a major expansion and recognition around the world, especially in the U.S. market. Between 2000 and 2006 it was chosen five times as the favorite Spanish wine by the prestigious American magazine Wine & Spirits.

The winemaking methods used in Marqués de Cáceres are similar to those used in Bordeaux. French expertise and winemaking techniques have been applied to the native varieties, mainly Tempranillo, thereby getting one of the most modern Rioja wines currently in the market.
