Intense colour red cherries with flecks of a deeper tone, aromas of new oak are prominent but in harmony with the fruit, giving touches of vanilla. In the mouth it is powerfull, full bodied yet smooth and velvety with a perfect balance again between the oak and the fruit. It will age well for many years.
It would happily acompany gruilled or roast meat dishes, rich stes or other powerful flavours.
What the critics say...
Robert Parker: 90 points(01/02/2008)
The 2004 Crianza is 90% Tempranillo, the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The grapes were fermented with native yeasts and aged in barrel for 19 months. Deep crimson-colored, it reveals an attractive nose of cedar, mineral, earth, blackberry, and black currant. This leads to a forward, fruit-filled wine with good flavors and excellent depth. It has the structure to evolve for 2-3 years and will drink well through 2020.
Pairing: Aged Cheese, Game Animals, Grilled Red Meats, Legume, Roasts, Stews.
In 1975 the Peñalba Lopez family acquires Torremilanos's estate. From this moment Tempranillo's plantation increases, up to reaching the 200 current hectares of vineyard, of which, 80 % is Tempranillo and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Viura, Blanca del país, Sauvignon Blanc and... Garnacha (though very residual the latter). Since 2003, the vineyard has been introduced gradually to the Organic Agriculture, and since 2007 100 % of the production is Ecological.
