Buy Wine from Calatayud (Spain)
DO. Calatayud is located in the Southwest corner of the province of Zaragoza, in the natural region of the Ebro valley, where an important network of tributaries converges directly from the Ebro river.
It occupies an area of 5,621 hectares... utilized for the cultivation of vineyards, and on it, 46 municipalities are organized, which make up this Designation, recognized as such in 1989.
The D.O. Calatayud acts on the basis of a series of invariable conditioning factors such as elevation, between 550 and 1100 metres, and soils with diversity running from chalk to clay, limestone and marl. These are factors which contribute to the exceptional "terroir" of our land, they lend personality and uniqueness to our wines.
There is an element which is changeable, and it is that one in which man takes part, the vine grower. If wine has been produced in the Calatayud area for 2,000 years, it is not without a reason.
