The Sierra Cantabria Murmurón 2010 is made from 100% Tempranillo from vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida, and harvested by hand.
Winemaking: Carbonic maceration (fermentation tank filling and whole bunches) for 14 days. Gentle daily pumping.
Fermentation: Fermentation with selected yeasts (Sacharomycces bayanus). Temperature control between 23 º and 25 º C.
Tasting notes: Color: deep red cherry, high layer and iridescent light purple at the edges of the glass. Clean and bright. Aroma: Complex floral notes give way to fruity sensations of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) with great balance, intensity and persistence. Palate: Silky shows, cool, body and tannins but well balanced. It develops elegant, rich flavors of fresh fruit (berries, raspberries, blackberries) in a very good combination with intense floral character (reminiscent of violets.) Appears in fruity aftertaste, leaving a deep and persistent memory.

The Eguren family, generation after generation since 1870, have been dedicated to grape growing and to the elaboration and ageing of great wines in one of the most prestigious estates in Rioja.
Sierra Cantabria has made its wine under this brand since 1957, from its 90 hectares of... vineyards. It has an average age of 35 years and is situated in a unique location, between the River Ebro and the Sierra Cantabria mountain range.
Main varieties are Tempranillo, Tempranillo Peludo, Garnacha y Viura.
Marcos Eguren, as winemaker, has managed to adapt its range of wines to current trends, distinguishing, as he suggests, two distinct styles: the traditional Rioja, with the range of the Sierra Cantabria in the lead, and modern Rioja, with Amancio, Murmurón, Special Cuvee, Organza or Finca El Bosque.
