What the critics say...
Robert Parker: 93 points(01/06/2011)
The one red offering is the 2005 Fincas de Ganuza Reserva made up of 85% Tempranillo with the balance Graciano, Garnacha, and “other”. After 12 months of resting in tank, it was moved into barriques, 50% new, for another 25 months before bottling without fining or filtration. This dense purple-colored effort gives up aromas of pain grille, mineral, Asian spices, leather, and assorted black fruits. Big and structured on the palate in the style of the vintage, it will reward another 5-7 years of cellaring and deliver prime drinking from 2016 to 2025.

Evolution: further than 2015 Gastronomy: birds, rice with rabbit, deer loin. 90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, malolactic and 22 months in oak barrels (French and American). Notable distinction. Direct nose, well defined and elegant, ripe fruit, spicy, mineral, floral and ink. Structured and fresh, expressive.
The cellar is situated in the middle of Samaniego. It has almost sixty hectares in various plots in four localities in the Rioja Alavesa: Samaniego, Leza, Elciego and Laguardia. In Remírez de Ganuza, they work with fifty hectares of Tempranillo (90%) and Graciano (10%) situated truly... privileges enclaves of the Alavés vineyards. The vine stocks have an average age of sixty, with the youngest being thirty years old and the oldest, ninety-six, an ideal average for making a wine with ´breeding´.
