L'Hereu is the "premier," the finest symbol of how they like to work complexity in varieties and soils, with macabeo as the structural base.
Ferran Centelles Tasting notes: Style, that identity that defines a winery, is reflected in this cava. The search for clarity and purity has produced this sparkling wine with a gentle citric aroma highlighted by hints of white fruits, with all the olfactory elements in perfect balance. The palate is built on both freshness and concentration: a wine that combines firmness and smoothness with creamy bubbles. A long and very clean finish. All the style of the winery is on display in this extraordinary cava.
What the critics say...
Robert Parker: 90 points(01/05/2011)
The latest releases include the 2008 L`Hereu. It offers up an expressive minerality along with notions of brioche, spring flowers, and white fruits. Mouth-filling and elegant, it delivers excellent value for the money.
It was founded in 1986 by Josep María Raventós Blanc and Manuel Raventós Negra. The property of the Raventós family since 1497 in Sant Sadurní d´Anoia consists of 90 ha of woods and vineyards in the depression situated between the coastal hills and Montserrat, 40 km west of Barcelona, within... the Penedés winemaking area.
