Very deep dark cherry color with purple edges. Powerful aromas of wild ripe red fruits, such as cranberry, strawberries, blackberry. The wood is in a background as complement without being dominant. The attack is opulent without being aggressive, great palate and persistent tannic finish in the mouth. In this stage we find the same range of aromas as on the nose. With Pintia we do our best to respect the aromas which remind us from where the wine comes: the grape.

The 2004 Pintia comes from a superior vintage. Similarly styled to its older sibling, it is simply more flamboyant and opulent. The temptation is to drink this heady effort now but those who can delay gratification for a few years will be amply rewarded.

Evolution: 2010-2012. Gastronomy: rice with hare, ragut of veal, stewed partridge. Tinta de Toro; fermented in vat, malolactic and 13 months in new cask. Straightforward and definite, elegant, the top of the brand so far. Less doughy than in previous crops, with distinguished sensations of fluency and freshness. Fruity ripeness, balanced, wide. Service: 18ºC.
