The Perelada 3 Fincas 2008 is elaborated using grapes from 3 of its Empordà vineyards, each of them with their own geological conditions: Garnatxa Negra (35%), Samsó (33%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), Merlot (15%), Syrah (2%). Made at a controlled temperature. Fermentation on the skins takes place at 24ºC. Medium maceration. Aged during one year in Bordeaux barrels (70% fine American oak, 30% Allier French oak).
Tasting notes: Medium intensity cherry red colour. Nose: aromas of red and black fruits, nicely blended with the ageing notes. Palate: round, fresh, with very fine and ripe tannins. This is a nice, long and enveloping wine.

The wine production in el Castillo Perelada is already documented in the Middle Ages, as it is testified by several documents and parchments of the epoch remaining in the library. In Peralada, Michael Mateu Pla discovered and got mad about the wine world and where the winery decided to establish Castillo Perelada, recovering a secular tradition that goes back to the 14th century. Later on, his son-in-law, Arturo Suqué, took over the family business that today leads the grandson of Don Michael, Javier Suqué Mateu.
