The Palacio De Bornos Verdejo 2009 is made from Verdejo.
Tasting notes:
Very shiny straw yellow color.
Intense on the nose, very varietal(fennel, hay, lavander, apple) with an excellent load of fruit with bone ( peach, apricot) and tropical ( Pineapple, lychee, banana).Citric and anissed flavoured notes on the bottom.
In the mouth is ample and oily, fresh(a little bit carbonic) very varietal( very fruity), with bitter notes compensated with alcohol, good acidity and a long finsh.
What the critics say...
Wine Spectator: 82 points(01/01/2010)
This solid white shows firm acidity that supports melon, almond and herbal flavors that are clean but slightly dull. Drink now.
In January 1976 (7 years before the establishment of the D.O Rueda) Antonio Sanz decided to found his own winery in Rueda and became winemaker and owner of Bodegas Palacio de Bornos. Being a man of great foresight he already knew about the promising potential of the area’s soil and climate as... well as the unique characteristics of the Verdejo. This innovative oenologist started producing young fruity white wines, harvesting mainly by night. He introduced Sauvignon Blanc and pioneered the production of sparkling wines in the region.. His work has won numerous awards and recognition throughout his career.
