The Montevannos Roble 2008 is elaborated with 85% Tempranillo and 15% Merlot. Over 60 year old strains planted in conditions of extreme altitude (850-900 m) and subjected to cold winters and dry summers. After the winemaking, the wine spends 6 months in American oak barrels and at least 6 months in the bottle. The vintage was rated as "very good".
Tasting notes: Cherry red colour. Clean and bright. Nose: clean and long aroma, with ripe red fruit (strawberry and blackberry), figs and vanilla, coffee and mocha. Palate: powerful and tasty red fruit, peaches, figs, vanilla and licorice. Very good acidity in harmony with the freshness of the fruit. Long, persistent finish.
Bodegas Montevannos was established in the year 1987. It is located in Baños de Valdearados (Burgos), a rich and generous land on the highest area of Ribera del Duero, next to a 2,000 years ancient Roman site, as proves the mosaic with bacchic allegories discovered during the 1972... harvest.
