What the critics say...
Robert Parker: 95+ points(01/06/2011)
The 2006 Mauro V.S. (Vendimia Seleccionada) is 100% Tempranillo that makes a giant step up in richness compared to the Mauro cuvee. It also displays notable freshness which Garcia attributes to the significant temperature variance between daytime and nighttime. It exhibits a jammy confiture of black fruits in an opulent, liqueur-like frame.
Pairing: Beef, Game Animals, Grilled Red Meats, Roasts, Stews.
Bodegas Mauro S.A. a small wine industry, was founded in 1980 in the little castilian town of Tudela de Duero. From the beginning the wine cellar has been distinguished for its aged wines and small production. A slow but constant growth has placed Mauro among the best wines on the national... market and in a good position for international projection. For the comming years, new investments and a diversification of the product are planned, but always keeping strict control of our vineyard which guarentees distinctive high quality wines.
