The Mas Igneus FA 206 2008 is elaborated with 70% Garnatxa Negra, 20% Carinyena, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Syrah. Produced from grapes grown on terraces with a maximum yield per hectare of 2500 kg. Vintage begins at the beginning of October and grapes are selected by hand and transported to the cellar in 20 Kg. cases. The fermentation and maceration processes take place in stainless steel vats at a temperature of 26ºC. After this process wine goes into second year barriques of French Allier oak for 6 months. No finings nor cold treatments are done, resulting a wine with an expected evolution of at least five years.

The purple-colored 2008 Vinyes de Coster FA 206 is a blend of 70% Garnatxa Negra with the balance Carinena, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah that spent 6 months in seasoned oak. Asian spices, incense, lavender, and black cherry compose the inviting bouquet. In the glass succulent fruit along with intense spice notes lead to an elegantly styled wine that has the structure to evolve for 1-2 years but can be approached now.
Mas Igneus was founded in 1996, the result of a joint venture between Josep Maria Albet, Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets and initially the Poboleda Cooperative. In 2004, the cooperative left the society and Mas Igneus, together with a group of committed organic farmers from Poboleda and Porrera, moved... to its new and definitive home in a purpose built cellar at their Costers de l'Ermita estate just outside Gratallop At Mas Igneus, we currently have 3 estates comprising some 11 hectares of vineyards, as well as working with a small group of committed organic growers in Poboleda. All of our own vineyard and the vast majority of our collaborators' vineyards are certified organic estates. The most widely planted varieties are Garnatxa Negra and Carinyena, although we also have some newer plantations of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. For our white wines we have Garnatxa Blanca and Moscatell at our own estates, and Pedro Ximenes and Macabeu at our growers' estates in Poboleda. Our three estates are Costers de l'Ermita in Gratallops (where the cellar is located), Finca Comellars in Poboleda and Finca La Salanca in Torroja.
