Cherry-red with plentiful violet iridescende. An elegant and complex aroma perfecly blending the ripeness of the fruit with the spicy and mineral notes. On the palate it has a full, velvety attack thanks to the mature and extremely fleshy tannin. Great persistence and long-lasting freshness.
What the critics say...
Robert Parker: 94 points(01/02/2008)
The 2003 Clos Fonta is composed of 30% Garnacha Peluda, 25% Garnacha Pais, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Carinena aged for 14 months in French oak. The nose offers up smoke, toast, rose petals, slate, cassis, and blueberry. This is followed by a full-bodied, plush, intensely flavored, complex wine with layers of flavor, silky tannins, notes of chocolate and mocha, and a long, pure finish. Give this pleasurable effort 2-3 years of additional cellaring and drink it through 2025.
Pairing: Aged Cheese, Game Animals, Grilled Red Meats, Legume, Roasts, Stews.
