The Marqués de Cáceres Rosé 2010 is made from Tempranillo (85%) and Grenache (15%).
Climatology of the vintage 2010: Autumn in 2009 was sunny with some rainy days that gave way to a harsh winter of intense cold and heavy rains. Spring provided a changeable weather, with the temperatures and rainfall typical of the season stretching well into June. The Summer was hot and dry, but some timely rains provided with a balanced ripening process which lasted over time, this is why harvesting started later in 2009 with an excellent quality of grapes. The good weather encouraged a perfect sanitary state of the grapes and an abundance of polyphenols in the skin.
Tasting notes: The 2010 vintage is a wine with a beautiful luminous intensity. On the nose, aromas of red fruits and a slight minerality. On the palate, fruity and mineral hints with a slightly spicy touch. Its finesse and elegance highlight at the end of the tasting. A rosé of character to enjoy an appetizer or a versatile solution to your menus.
Ideal for Mediterranean cuisine: vegetables, paella, pasta, pizza and seasoned dishes.
This winery was founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner who following the advice of Emile Peynaud chose Cenicero -in the Rioja Alta- as the best location for the winery.
The Forner family had a long tradition in wine making, since they were already owners in Bordeaux of a Grand Cru... Classé, the Château Camensac, and the Château Larose-Trintaudon.
Despite the difficulties of the early years, almost from the very moment of its foundation, Marques de Caceres has undergone a major expansion and recognition around the world, especially in the U.S. market. Between 2000 and 2006 it was chosen five times as the favorite Spanish wine by the prestigious American magazine Wine & Spirits.
The winemaking methods used in Marqués de Cáceres are similar to those used in Bordeaux. French expertise and winemaking techniques have been applied to the native varieties, mainly Tempranillo, thereby getting one of the most modern Rioja wines currently in the market.
