The product is perfected by the fine blending techniques of the Master Blender Börje Karlsson resulting in a premium vodka with outstanding smoothness and taste.

Karlsson vodka is an initiative from the farmers of Cape Bjäre and with a heritage from Absolut vodka. In 2001, after the worst harvest the farmers of the area had ever lived, some of the region’s farmers met with their neighbour, Peter Ekelund - who had lead for more than 25 years the... launch of Absolut vodka- to discuss the idea of creating a vodka from these extraordinary potatoes rather than letting the region be overrun by golf clubs. Peter then contacted an old colleague: the master blender of V&S Company, Börje Karlsson, the man behind the Absolut recipe. Now retired, Börje was curious to find out if different top quality virgin new potatoes could transfer their characteristics to different vodkas, and accepted the challenge. Nine varieties of new potatoes were tested for distillation – in each case, the potatoes were harvested before their skin had formed, what they are now called “virgin new potatoes”.
