Aged 18 months in Allier´s French oak casks. Intense dark cherry red color with purplish tones in a thin robe. The nose is very persistent with tones of ripe red fruit (mulberry, blackberry) intermingled with a frank wood elegantly spiced. The mouth mixes perfectly the smoothness of the ripe tannin with the polifenolic structure of the fine red wine. Wide and powerful with a tasty after-taste reminding the grape and the soil.
What the critics say...
Wine Spectator: 90 points(15/11/2009)
Fresh and vibrant, this red delivers spicy cherry pie flavors, with smoky and light herbal notes that add complexity. The tannins are well-integrated, and the finish is vibrant. Drink now through 2015.

The purple-colored 2006 Malleolus was aged for 18 months in French oak. It delivers a complex perfume of cedar, spice box, incense, mineral, and blackberry. This leads to an elegant wine with superior depth and intensity. Layered with tons of savory fruit and well concealed ripe tannin, it will evolve for another 6-8 years and provide optimum drinking from 2016 to 2031.
The winery is family-run and has links with the wine world going back three generations. It is located in Ribera del Duero. 1989 was the first vintage of the Emilio Moro brand, which remains today the winerys largest production and most representative wine.
