Aged for 12 months in American and French oak casks. Intense color, with blue edges and red bottom. It is significant as the primary aromas display in a powerful and concentrated form of good fruit perfectly assembled.
What the critics say...
Wine Spectator: 91 points(15/11/2009)
Ripe cherry, fig pudding, vanilla and spice flavors mingle in this firm, lively red. There s plenty of structure, but the red fruit flavors are bright and expressive. Drink now through 2016.
Robert Parker: 92 points(01/02/2008)
The 2005 Emilio Moro is purple-colored with a complex bouquet of wood smoke, toast, crushed stone, and blackberry. Supple, ripe, and forward, this tasty wine will evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now through 2015.
Proensa Guide: 90 points(01/01/2008)
Evolution: 2014-2015. Gastronomy: Castilian roasts, grilled meat, vegetables. Tinto Fino; one year in cask. Elegant and fluid line, medium body, without doughiness or edges. Frank nose, well designed, with a fruity and discreet ageing notes predominance. Well balanced on a medium body, civilized tannins and well combined acidity, tasty, fruity, long. Service: 18ºC.
The winery is family-run and has links with the wine world going back three generations. It is located in Ribera del Duero. 1989 was the first vintage of the Emilio Moro brand, which remains today the winerys largest production and most representative wine.
