Cojón de Gato 2009 is made from a blend of Merlot, Syrah and Cojón de Gato (traditional grape variety from the region of Somontano). Aging for 3 months in French oak barrels. Made in Bal D'Isábena's winery. Vineyards located at a height of 700m (2296 ft) at the heart of the Somontano region.
Tasting notes: Bright cherry red colour, purple rim. On nose, subtle floral expression, adundant in fresh red fruit from the forest, mineral notes, delicious hints of cocoa and brioche on a spicy and balsamic background. On palate, fresh, nice, austere, fruity, good acidity, smoky notes. Sweet finish.

Under this name we find the union of a number of wineries in Aragon whose concern is to return to the roots, producing and recovering endangered native Spanish grape varieties, such as Grenache, Cojón de Gato (Cat's testicle), Parraleta, Vidalillo or Moristel. Bal D'Isábena's winery... is located in Lagüarres (Huesca), producing easy-drinking wines to satisfy every consumer who wishes to experiment and innovate, while it breaks with the seriousness of the wine world through a series of bottles with a casual format and a funny name: Cojón de Gato (Cat's testicle), Teta de Vaca (Cow's Udder), Ojo de Liebre (Hare's Eye) or Maria de la O.
