Reviews of Château Rauzan-Ségla 2001
Cabernet Sauvignon: 63,5%
Cabernet Franc: 3%
Press Wines: 13%
55 % new barrels
Winter was rainy and mild, so the bud burst took place under favourable climatic conditions at the end of March, beginning of April. Growth started quickly but its evolution was slowed down by cooler temperatures in April. A mild and dry spring announced an optimistic flowering in good conditions. But cool temperatures in July delayed the "veraison" process which begun end of July. The weather conditions during August were good and temperatures went down from the month of September onwards. These rather cool temperatures were favourable to a gradual maturation.
