A sleeper of the vintage, La Tour Figeac’s 2006 (80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc) is a lusciously-styled effort displaying a deep ruby/purple color as well as copious quantities of sweet black cherries, black currants, licorice, toasty oak, and forest floor. The wine is opulent, nearly flamboyant, and hedonistic with the potential to become even more complex over the next 10-15 years
Pairing: Aged Cheese, Game Animals, Grilled Red Meats, Legume, Roasts, Stews.
The Château Figeac, which has his origin in an Gaelic - Roman village dating from the 2nd century, placed in between a beautiful park of reservoirs and gardens. As a former Regime, Figeac feud, an important domain, was born in the course of the 19th century, as a result of a few divisions and... partitions, unlike the Cheval Blanc Crus. Château Figeac shares with the latter, an important part of an exceptional gravelly area. With this characteristic soil, along with the hills, the culture assessment, a well directed vinification, an excellent conservation, followed by a necessary complete attention, a careful bottling carried out in the right moment, the love of its owners for the ´art´ which provides to the Château Figeac a great reputation and the Premier Grand Cru class.
