Tasting notes: Pale yellow colour with greenish nuances. Clean and bright. Its generous stream of fine bubbles forms a perfect crown. It has a clean aroma, with fruity hints and a slight ageing tone. Dry and smooth on the palate, it is complex in the mouth and has a good tasting balance.

The wine production in el Castillo Perelada is already documented in the Middle Ages, as it is testified by several documents and parchments of the epoch remaining in the library. When Michael Mateu bought this monumental set in 1923 one of his principal aims was the revitalización of this wine... tradition, a tradition that today is stronger than ever before and which has incorporated the most modern technology to elaborate wines which get its best from the soil nuances and Emporda´s vineyards. In Peralada, Michael Mateu Pla discovered and got mad about the wine world and where the winery decided to establish Castillo Perelada, recovering a secular tradition that goes back to the 14th century. Later on, his son-in-law, Arturo Suqué, took over the family business that today leads the grandson of Don Michael, Javier Suqué Mateu.
