What the critics say...
Robert Parker: 90 points(01/02/2008)
The Castell Sant Antoni Gran Reserva spent 48 months on its lees with no dosage. Medium straw-colored, its aromatics are slightly sophisticated than its younger sibling. It is also a bit more crisp and focused with precise tiny bubbles and a lengthy finish. It should provide several years of pleasurable drinking.
Peñin Guide: 93 points(01/01/2012)
Colour: bright golden. Nose: fine lees, dry nuts, complex, ripe fruit, elegant. Palate: powerful, flavourful, good acidity, fine bead, fine bitter notes.
The winery has a clear philosophy: produce cavas in the highest quality for high restoration, selected wine shops and in general for lovers of fine cava, always in very limited productions.
To do so, they work only with the free-run juice from the varieties Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada,... Chardonnay, Grenache and Pinot Noir.
Most of all vineyards are located in the property called ´El Sot´, at 2.5 miles from Sant Sadurní d'Anoia where their cellar is based.
