The Castell d'Encus Ekam 2010 is elaborated with Riesling grapes. Throughout 2010 the vines have been taken good care of in order to get the best quality in the grapes. The vine is really important throughout the process to get the best quality of grapes, and for this reason, only the best products allowed in organic agriculture are used. Riesling strains came up later than usual. Spring was very cool. The strains grew slowly and suddenly the rains started in June. The harvest was done later than usual. The grapes riped slowly and it was not until August that the grains began to change from green to pale yellow colour. It was decided to harvest the Riesling at different stages looking thus for the optimal maturation and Botrytis in each and every grape. The first batch went into the cellar on 21 September and the last one on 20 October. 20 days apart! All the separate small batches remained in the cellar so that all the details of the final coupage were controlled. The result is the Ekam 2010. A fresh wine with aromas of citrus, grapefruit, minerals. Aromas that will evolve over time in the bottle into fleshy fruit, floral, quince aromas ... aromas that over time will make us discover a new wine.
