Proceeding from a vine-growers' family of the riverside locality of Ribera de Duero, Burgos, Carmelo Rodero belongs to the fourth generation of vine-growers. His great-grandfathers were elaborating the wine in the classic and former presses, until the Wine Cooperative of Pedros de Duero was... established, of which his grandparents were founder. Continuing with the above mentioned path Carmelo Rodero started by growing the vineyards belonging to his family for some years, later he decided to get dissociated from this one, and with 50 hectares of vineyard, started to sell his grapes to the mythical Vega Sicilia winery for 14 years. In 1990 he initiated his own venture. He was committed for the future and the quality knowing that a great wine is based in a few good grapes, this is the reason why Rodero is proud that ever since his first vintage in 1991, all the wines have been rewarded in contests and the most important tastings, both national and international, by the contrast and the quality recognition.
