Philosophy and history Waiting to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors, a property named Les Deveses was acquired in the early 80s in the village of St Vicenç de Calders, in the locality of El Vendrell, in the Baix Penedès (Tarragona). At the end of that decade, after having transformed... the entire property into vineyards, and personalized product of high quality, the laborious process of setting up infrastructures was initiated. At the same time they have been elaborating bittersweet vinegars with the name of Forum. The objective is, and always will be, to operate with the instinct of a small producer.
Vineyards Soil trends to be calcareous, with a rather gritty texture and with a certain amount of stones. Only 3 kilometers from the sea. The high temperatures during the day and the afternoon and evening breezes enable us to reach a high degree of maturation with very good vigour. Such noble variety grapes as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay have adapted perfectly to our microclimate and soil.
The wine cellar A wine Cellar with over 2000 years of history, because their vineyards are dissected by the remains of the historic Via Augusta, the Roman road which connected Rome with the most important Mediterranean’s towns. By all it, they wanted to give tribute to this privileged Roman footpath, giving to the wine cellar, the wines and vinegars, the name of Augustus and Forum.
