What the critics say...
Wine Spectator: 86 points(01/01/2010)
This ripe red offers plum, fig pudding, chocolate and meat flavors in a thick texture. The tannins are firm, but good acidity keeps this lively. Can match hearty foods. Drink now through 2014.
Robert Parker: 91 points(01/04/2010)
The 2007 AN/2 is 65% Callet, 20% Mantonegro-Fogoneu, and 15% Syrah aged in 35% new French and American oak. Dark ruby-colored, it displays a bouquet of earth, tobacco, mineral, iodine, black cherry, and blueberry. Supple-textured with some underlying structure, this complex, succulent effort will evolve for 1-2 years and drink well through 2017.
Situated to the south-east of Mallorca, ĀN Negra winery produces its wines on the old country estate of Son Burguera close to the town of Felanitx. Current wine making is nothing more than a continuation of our ancestral activity and it is against this background that ĀN Negra was born. ... />The respect shown to the individual features of the soil and the cultivation of the indigenous varieties (manto negre, fogoneu, premsal and, above all, callet) has formed the basis of our philosophy in the way we approach our viticulture and this is reflected in the wine itself. Born of the unique symbiosis of the climate, the land and the indigenous varieties, our inimitable wines are honest and distinctive and challenge the current trend of producing impersonal wine. It is this premise, together with the aim of offering a product of the highest quality, that marks the day-to-day running of ĀN Negra.
