The Agusti Torello Mata Kripta 2006 was created by Agustí Torelló Mata, an oenologist devoted to the world of cava since 1950, who decided to make his dream come true and create an extraordinary cava only for friends and great connoisseurs. Each bottle of Kripta combines the blending of a very limited harvest of the oldest vines in Penedès with the expertise of Agustí Torelló Mata. This project was developed in the old family home of Can Rossell. Since the idea was to create an extraordinary cava like no other we had to wait over 30 years for it to be launched.

The 2006 Kripta is a blend of 45% Macabeu, 20% Xarello and 35% Parellada from 60+ year old vines with no dosage. It has a lovely almond and brioche-scented bouquet with lemon rind and lime leaf, all with superb delineation. The palate is very refined on the entry with palpable minerality, great tension and poise. It possesses a minimalist, focused finish with hints of green apple, lime and a little vanilla pod. Excellent. Drink now-2018+.

Bright straw colour. Intense scents, ripe fruit, green herbs, spicy. On palate, good acidity, fine bubble, lingering.
With the aim to elaborate Cava in its maximum expression, three autochthonous varieties are selected from the best subfields of the Penedés: Xarel.lo, Parellada and Macabeo, to which the mediterranean weather will give a few singular characteristics and personality. With a careful process... which goes from the election of the best ´crus of the Penedés´, passing a rigorous control of the vineyards, up to a selection and harvest by hand... are the key of its secret: Technology and tradition go together to respect and to promote the virtudes of its Cavas.
