The Abadía Retuerta Seleccion Especial is made from 75% Tempranillo, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot.
The grapes are vinified separately. The fermentation is adapted to the quality of the grapes of each plot. The duration of the steeping is determined by tasting. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel the wines are mixed and then aged in French and American oak barrels for 18 months.
Intensive color, with a high concentration. Saturated dark cherry.
Complex and attractive nose, with floral aromas primarily of red fruits, blending well with the wood and fresh notes of eucalyptus and candy.
Soft and kind entry in mouth, which leads to a wine of great aromatic richness and incredible expressiveness. Good balance between alcohol, acidity and structure with high quality tannins, very fine and soft. Very persistent.
