6 O'clock Tonic made with natural products, selected quinine, and extracts of lemon and lime. No synthetic flavours or sweeteners added. Exceptional clean taste of natural quinine. Slightly spicy on the nose and mouth with a lasting bitterness on the mouth. To have the best gin&tonic, it is best combined with the 6 O'clock Gin delightfully complementing and enhancing each other.
The original recipe was created by Michael Kain, who searched the inspiration on his great grandfather, Edward Kain. Edward began his working life as a ship's engineer for the British and East India Steamship Company. His travels took him all over the empire from Europe to Africa and the Far... East. On board ship the crew were given tonic water as an anti-malarial treatment. Edward and his fellow engineers improved the taste by mixing it with gin and thus started his regular 6 o'clock gin and tonic institution. After leaving the Merchant Navy, Edward retired to the life of a gentleman inventor. Edward continued to maintain the traditions he inherited in the navy and would sit down at Six O'clock for his ´ginspiration´. It was a sacred time of day for him. An hour of dedication and meditation where he let his imagination work.
